The second AfricaPCR Course will be taking place in Johannesburg from March 26th – 28th, 2015 at the Forum, the Campus in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
The 2015 Course will build on the objective of exploring clinical challenges specific to Africa and forging solutions through a highly interactive process of sharing, learning, questioning, and challenging of the facilitators.
Items of specific interest for paediatric cardiologists include:
- Managing high-risk patients – the ideal preparation for procedures with such patients and how to prevent and avoid complications
- Setting up a cathlab service in Africa and managing patients with resource limitations (with a focus on the local environment and particular circumstances of each African region)
- Atrial septal defect intervention in the African context
- A dedicated Allied Professionals Session focusing on congenital heart disease
- Interactive case corners
